Learn Why Frost & Sullivan Names ThreatQuotient the XDR Competitive Strategy Leader

MARC SOLOMON

Extended Detection and Response (XDR) is the latest buzz word in the security industry and garnering significant attention. Industry analysts each have their own definition. Meanwhile, security vendors are quickly jumping on the bandwagon, recasting their products as XDR solutions. And it’s safe to assume many more will unveil XDR products in the months ahead.

Frost & Sullivan defines XDR as “a vendor-agnostic solution that aggregates data from a wide range of security controls (e.g., endpoint, cloud, network), enabling security teams to detect, investigate, and respond to threats in a holistic manner,” and notes that most solutions fall short of this meaning.

To help companies navigate the marketing claims and avoid disappointment of selecting a solution that doesn’t live up to expectations, Frost & Sullivan conducted a rigorous analysis to evaluate multiple nominees for Competitive Strategy Leadership in the Global XDR Industry. The process involved a detailed evaluation of best practices criteria across two dimensions – strategy innovation and customer impact. We’re honored that ThreatQuotient excelled in Frost & Sullivan’s analysis and has been named the 2021 XDR leader.

At ThreatQuotient, we have long believed that data is the lifeblood of security operations and must drive detection and response automation. We also believe that integration is a core competency to enable XDR because organizations are not starting with a clean slate but have a variety of best-of-breed solutions across departments and teams. Our Open XDR architecture, powered by our Datalinq Engine, gives customers a flexible path forward, allowing for strong integration and interoperability with all systems and data sources. It’s the most efficient and effective way for organizations to reach the goal of extended detection and response across the infrastructure and across all attack vectors.

It is gratifying to see our vision being embraced. Mikita Hanets, Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst states, “In contrast to most early XDR offerings, the ThreatQ Platform enables security operations teams to ingest data from a wide array of security controls, whether they are from a single vendor or multiple providers. The company has an extensive list of out-of-the-box integrations that allow ThreatQuotient’s customers to start benefiting from those partnerships in a matter of minutes.”

In addition to data ingestion and integration, Frost & Sullivan highlights the ability from within the ThreatQ Platform to conduct threat huntinginvestigation and incident response to facilitate simpler and more effective security operations, which is the ultimate goal of XDR. Furthermore, ThreatQ TDR Orchestrator simplifies automation through a data-driven approach to playbooks versus a process-driven approach that is inherently inefficient and complex.
