There’s a lot to be proud of as part of the ThreatQuotient Crash, but one thing I’m particularly proud of is our commitment to recognizing and encouraging women in cybersecurity. We do this consistently throughout the year, but in March our tradition is to celebrate with a series of blogs to coincide with Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day. 

The number of women in cybersecurity has grown from 20% in 2019 to 25% in 2022 and is expected to reach 30% by 2025. While the trend is moving in the right direction, our aim this month is to share stories and insights that can inspire us all to do what we can to help accelerate this growth.

In the coming weeks, we’ll feature profiles on our blog of women in cybersecurity. Here are just a few of the women we will highlight:

• V. Costa-Gazcón, Founder at VONE Labs
• Olivia Henderson., Senior Product Marketing Manager at Splunk
• Kailyn Johnson, Cyber Intelligence and Geopolitical Risk Lead at Sibylline Ltd. 

On March 8, International Women’s Day, look for a profile on Nocry Mzimba, a Sergeant in the Black Mambas, South Africa’s first all-female anti-poaching unit that protects rhinos from different kinds of threats. It’s an unexpected twist on women in security doing important work to ensure the long-term     survival of rhinos in their natural habitat.

Celebrating women in cyber at FS-ISAC
We’re also excited this month to participate in the FS-ISAC 2023 Americas Spring Summit, March 19-22 in Denver, Colorado. This year’s theme is “Forging a Resilient Future” and one of the main tracks is “Building a Diverse Workforce”. It takes our collective knowledge and effort to out-innovate bad guys and build resilience to threats. So, attracting and retaining a talent pool that consists of people from a wide background with diverse ways of thinking and solving problems is crucial.
