Location:
Occasional travel to our corporate headquarters in Ashburn, Virginia and Mt Airy, Maryland will be required.
Job Functions:
- Take ownership of administration and maintenance of computing environment that includes Linux servers, Windows and Mac laptops, multiple operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals, cloud and network-based services, etc.
- Follow established schedules for system maintenance, backup, and updates.
- General help desk responsibilities including, but not limited to, creating user profiles; adding, removing, or updating user account information, resetting passwords, etc. Respond to user requests, problems, and concerns and identify the sources or causes of workstation problems.
- Assist remote users with VPN connectivity and workstation issues.
- Manage all aspects of corporate networks in both Maryland and Virginia, including DNS, DHCP, switches, Cisco appliances, Ubiquiti wireless systems, conference room A/V and broadband internet circuits.
Mandatory Skills:
- Comfortable working on Linux (CentOS, RHEL), Windows, and MacOS platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills
- Highly self-motivated and directed
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize effectively
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
Applicant should possess:
- Familiarity with Vulnerability Management systems
- Experience with EDR tools and incident response
- A minimum of 3 years experience in Linux systems administration
- A need to take ownership of systems and processes
- An understanding of network and hardware security principles
- A working knowledge of networking protocols and systems
- Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Experience with virtualization (VMware/Openstack/etc.)
- Experience with administrating Google G Suite, Jamf, Atlassian products, AWS & Azure a plus
Education:
A+, Network+, Linux+ certifications a plus
