Women in Cybersecurity
PROFILE - AUDREY AMEDROAudrey Amédro
Founder and CEO – Sesame-IT
How long have you worked there?
I have worked at Sesame it for 7 years; a company I have founded in 2017. We are based in Paris17.
What aspects of your job bring you the most satisfaction?
I feel satisfied and even thankful with three main things in my job: when I see the company growing, when I receive positive feedbacks from our customers, and when I see my team acting proud and happy. This is worth any difficulties I can meet with the company/job.
What do you enjoy most about the company?
The company is 7 years, profitable and with strong foundations, but I think we are at the beginning of it. There is still a lot to build to become the large company and the technology reference we aim to be… and I love that.
How did you get into cybersecurity?
I studied physics when I was young… a few later after finishing school I started a job in Lawful Interception business, which brought me little by little to networks, then security, then cybersecurity.
What do you like most about cybersecurity?
It is a “super fast-evolving” sector, so we have to be creative to quickly bring answers to current pains. Think fast, and act fast. This is thrilling.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme is #InspireInclusion. What does that mean to you?
It means to me that if we want to move the lines (of inclusion), we are all concern and urged to show the way. As per the women inclusion in masculine ecosystems, like cybersecurity, I think the best we can do as women in this sector is to talk to the youngers and show them how normal it is to be here.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be “the boss like my father”, or a police inspector, or a fashion designer….
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
“Keep going”.
What is your favorite quote and why?
“Hard work pays off”. Because hard work pays off…
Who is your hero?
My man.
